Major Collision Investigation Unit (MCIU) detectives are investigating following the death of a man in Daylesford on 17 October.
Emergency services responded after an injured man was located just after 6.30am.
The man was located by a passer-by with serious injuries on Bridport Street and CPR was commenced but the 58-year-old Creswick man died at the scene.
At this early stage the death is not being treated as suspicious and police are investigating if the man was struck by a vehicle on Bridport Street sometime between 6.10am and 6.30am.
MCIU detectives are hoping to speak to anyone who may have been driving on Bridport Street or may have seen a man behaving erratically in the area at the time.
