Police Investigate Fatal Collision In Lara

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance as they continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision in Lara last night.

It is understood a utility and a car collided on the Geelong Ring Road about 11.20pm on 16 November.

A passenger from the utility, a 57-year-old Grovedale woman, died at the scene.

The driver of the utility, a 67-year-old Grovedale man, was taken to hospital where he remains under police guard.

The driver of the BMW, a 23-year-old Lara man, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

His passenger, a 19-year-old Lovely Banks woman, was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be established.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Detectives would like to speak to the occupants of a car that was seen in the area prior to the collision.
