Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a fatal collision which occurred in Murtoa this morning.
Investigators believe that a truck was traveling west on the Wimmera Highway when it collided with a car travelling east.
The male driver and female passenger of the car, who are yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.
The 24-year-old male driver of the truck was arrested and is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be established.
Investigators are particularly interested in any witnesses, or footage that captured grass being cut on side of the highway between 10 and 11am, and anyone with dash cam footage on the Wimmera Highway in the vicinity of the Delahuntys Road intersection around 10 and 11am.
