Police Investigate Fatal Riddells Creek Crash

Emergency services attended a single vehicle collision in Riddells Creek this afternoon.

It's believed a water tanker truck was travelling along Main Road around 2.20pm when the vehicle hit a power pole, veered off the road and crashed into a community centre.

A 43-year-old Sunbury woman died at the scene.

A 3-year-old boy was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the truck, a 69-year-old Broadford man, was taken to hospital for observation and will be interviewed by investigators.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated by Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives.
