Police investigate firearms discharge

Police are investigating a firearms discharge in Launceston that occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Police attended the carpark located at 120 Patterson Street, Launceston in relation to a firearm being discharged at the address about 2.15am

Initial investigations suggest an offender has discharged a shot-gun into the air before leaving the carpark in a blue 1995 model Honda Accord. A 2002 yellow Mitsubishi Lancer may also be related to the incident.

No one was injured as a result of the firearm being discharged.

Investigations are continuing into the incident. Police wish to speak to any witnesses or anyone who may have CCTV of the incident.
