Police are seeking witnesses to an incident involving a firearm in Dandenong North on 25 March.
Investigators have been told a mother and her seven-year-old daughter were walking through Tirhatuan Reserve when they observed a male riding a dirt bike in a southerly direction near the basketball courts on Kriegel Way about 6.30pm.
The male came skidding to a stop close to the victims, causing them to run towards the basketball courts. The male followed them, doing laps around Kriegel Way, the tennis courts and the basketball courts.
The male then rode up and approached the two victims.
Without any conversation or provocation, he took off his helmet and pointed at what is described to be a black handgun for approximately 10 seconds in a threatening manner at the pair.
The male then left on the dirt bike in a south easterly direction through the reserve towards Stud Road.
Investigators have released a computer-generated image of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries, along with images of the red, white and black motorbike leathers the male was wearing at the time of the incident.

The male has been described as being between 16-18 years old, Caucasian in appearance with tanned skin, average build, approximately 160-165cm tall with greasy slick back shoulder length hair, brown eyes and very thick dark eyebrows.
Detectives are seeking the public's assistance in providing CCTV/dashcam footage and in identifying the male.
