Somerville Highway Patrol officers are appealing for public assistance following a hit-run collision that left a motorcyclist with serious injuries in Skye this morning.
Police have been told a motorcycle was travelling north along Dandenong-Hastings when a white Ford Ranger Wildtrack, also travelling north in the emergency lane, hit the motorbike about 9.20am.
The driver of the Ford Ranger did not stop and continued travelling north on Dandenong-Hastings Road.
The motorcycle rider, a 40-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious leg injuries.
Police believe the white Ford Ranger was seen driving erratically before the collision and are keen to speak to any witnesses.
Investigators have released an image and CCTV of a Ford Ranger in the hope someone may recognise it.
