Police Investigate Melbourne CBD Assault 4 June

Police are investigating after an assault in Melbourne's CBD last month.

It is understood a 48-year-old woman was riding an e-scooter along King Street about 10.15am, when she was assaulted and knocked off the scooter by an unknown man on Sunday, 12 May.

Officers have been told the man was walking past the woman when the assault occurred.

Investigators do not believe the man spoke to the woman during the incident.

He continued to cross the road in front of oncoming traffic.

Bystanders stopped to assist the woman, who lost consciousness at the scene.

Police have released CCTV and images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, between 30-40-years old, of medium build and approximately 177cm tall.

He was wearing a grey hooded jumper, dark pants, white shoes, and a black cap with an orange logo. He was also carrying a white plastic bag.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, has CCTV footage or information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
