Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a fatal crash which occurred in Mount Lonarh last night (24 December), Victoria Police say.
Investigators have been told a white Toyota sedan was travelling north along Amphitheatre Road about 7pm when it lost control and crashed into a tree.
A yet to be identified female passenger died at the scene.
A 21-year-old man and the driver, a 57-year-old man, both from Koroit man were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The exact cause of the crash is yet to be determined and investigation remains ongoing.
