Moorabbin Highway Patrol officers are investigating a single vehicle crash in Carrum this morning.
It is believed the male driver was travelling along the Nepean Highway when he lost control and crashed into the brick fence of a house about 2.15am.
The 44-year-old Seaford driver and sole occupant of the vehicle sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to hospital for treatment.
No one else was injured.
The circumstances surrounding the crash are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.
