Police investigate St Albans hit and run

Police are appealing for public assistance after a hit and run collision between a motorcycle and pedestrian in St Albans on Thursday.

A woman was crossing St Albans Road, heading towards Ginifer Railway Station, when she was struck by a red motorbike about 8.15am.

The woman was knocked to the ground and suffered serious injuries.

The motorcyclist left the scene without stopping; turning left onto Furlong Road heading east.

It is believed the motorcyclist was wearing full protective gear including a helmet and witnesses have told investigators the riders' clothes were possibly red, black and white.

Police are appealing for any witnesses, and particularly anyone with dash-cam footage of the incident, to come forward.
