An investigation is underway following the stabbing of a man at Tacoma in the Tuggerah Lakes district last night.
Just after 7.00pm (Saturday 19 September 2020), emergency services were called to a car park near a fish co-op at Wolseley Avenue Tacoma, after reports a man had been stabbed.
Police have been told a 24-year-old man was with a group of friends in two separate vehicles in the carpark, when a small black coloured sedan pulled up next to the group.
Four males, described as being aged in their teens and armed with various weapons including a knife, a glass bottle and a flick knife, jumped from the car and stabbed the 24-year-old man in the back, chest and head before returning to their car and leaving the scene.
The injured man was treated by ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital for surgery. His condition is listed as being serious but stable.
Officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District attended and secured a crime scene and have commenced an investigation into the incident.
As inquiries continue, investigators are seeking help from the public and are seeking anyone who was at the fish co-op at Tacoma around 7.00pm last night and may have witnessed the incident or has dash-cam footage, to come forward.
