Police Investigating After Car Fire - Wetherill Park

About 10.20pm last night (Wednesday 23 October 2024), emergency services were called to Emerson Street, Wetherill Park, following reports of a car fire.

Fire and Rescue worked to extinguish the blaze; however, the car was completely destroyed.

Officers attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command attended and were told gun shots were heard shortly before the vehicle fire.

Officers were informed unknown persons were seen to be running from the vicinity of Emerson Street.

Local police – with the assistance of the Dog Squad and PolAir – are conducting a canvas of the area.

There are no reports of injuries.

A crime scene has been established and examined by specialist officers.
