An investigation is underway following a serious single-vehicle crash in the state's far west yesterday.
About 6.30pm (Tuesday 8 August 2023), emergency services were called to Rufus River Road, about 50kms west of Wentworth, following reports of a single-vehicle crash.
Police were told the vehicle left the roadway and rolled before it crashed into a tree.
The driver – a 40-year-old man – and passenger – a 33-year-old man were treated on scene by NSW and Victorian Ambulance paramedics before they were taken to Mildura Hospital.
The driver was later airlifted to Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The passenger received minor injuries and remains in Mildura Hospital for observation.
Officers attached to Barrier Police District have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Inquiries are continuing.
