Police have commenced an investigation following a serious motor vehicle crash in Sydney's south west overnight.
About 10.40pm (Sunday 4 August 2024), emergency services were called to Davies Road, Padstow, following reports of a two-vehicle crash.
Officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command attended and found a white Audi alight after colliding with a silver Nissan.
Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the blaze.
Police were told the occupants of the Audi - believed to be three men - left the scene before police arrival.
The driver of the Nissan, a 39-year-old man, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to St George Hospital in a critical condition.
A crime scene has been established and specialist officers from the Crash Investigation Unit commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
