Police are investigating after a man was stabbed in Broken Hill yesterday.
About 1pm yesterday (Friday 26 April 2024), emergency services were called to O'Farrell Street, Broken Hill, after reports a man had been assaulted.
Officers from Barrier Police District attended and found a 37-year-old man with a stab wound. He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to Broken Hill Base Hospital, before being transferred to Royal Adelaide Hospital in a serious condition.
A crime scene has been established and an investigation is underway into the incident.
As part of inquiries, police executed a search warrant on Bowen Street about 9.05pm and arrested a 29-year-old man.
He was taken to Broken Hill Police Station where he was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The man was refused bail to appear before Dubbo Local Court today (Saturday 27 April 2024).
