Police Investigating Kings Meadows Pedestrian Crash

Police are investigating a crash at Kings Meadows overnight where two pedestrians were seriously injured.

Police and emergency services were called to Hobart Road about 11pm Tuesday after reports a car had lost control and left the road, crashing into the fence of a residence where two pedestrians were walking at the time.

The pedestrians - a man and woman – were struck by the vehicle, and were transported to the Launceston General Hospital with serious injuries.

Crash investigators attended the scene, and the road was closed for approximately four hours.

The driver of the vehicle was not at the scene when police arrived, but was later located at an address in South Launceston.

The 23 year old South Launceston woman was taken into custody for mandatory blood testing.

Investigations are ongoing.
