Police have taken a man into custody after reports of shots allegedly being fired in Toolooa last night, March 9.
Initial investigations indicate around 11.02pm, a man in his 30s was standing on Pike Street when he was allegedly shot in the abdomen.
The man, aged in his 30s, was transported to Gladstone Hospital with serious injuries.
A 33-year-old man, who is known to the victim, left the scene on a motorcycle and was taken into custody a short time later at the intersection of Dixon and Dalrymple Drive.
He is presently assisting police with their enquiries.
A crime scene has been declared in Pike Street.
Investigations are continuing.
