Emergency services were called to the bottom of the freeway at Glen Osmond about 6.30pm last night, Wednesday 19 February, after a semi-trailer rolled onto its side and came to rest at the traffic light.
Luckily, the driver, a 23-year-old southern suburbs man, was able to extricate himself from the prime mover and did not sustain injury.
The collision occurred after the truck had been waiting at the red light and then commenced turning right with a green light onto Portrush Road.
No other vehicles were involved.
Damage was caused to the traffic light infrastructure.
SAPOL's Heavy Vehicle Enforcement Unit officers attended the scene to assist with the investigation.
Investigations are continuing.
The scene was clear and normal traffic flow resumed overnight.
