Police investigating two car crash on West Tamar Highway at Exeter, TAS

Police are investigating a two car crash on the West Tamar Highway at Exeter earlier today, Tasmania Police say.

Around 9:30 this morning, a grey Toyota Yaris travelling north slowed down to turn right. A white Toyota Rav4, also travelling north, attempted to overtake the Yaris but collided with the rear of the car.

The 67-year-old passenger of the Rav4, a woman from Queensland, remained in the car until assessed by Ambulance Tasmania at the scene. She was transported to the Launceston General Hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the Rav4, a 48-year-old woman also from Queensland, was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The driver of the Yaris, a 72-year-old man from Hadspen, was uninjured.

Traffic on the highway was interrupted for approximately one hour while the scene was cleared.
