Police have declared a crime scene and have arrested a 13-year-old boy following a wounding incident at Yamanto this evening, January 13.
Initial investigations indicate that around 5:25pm, emergency services were called to a shopping centre near Warwick Road, Yamanto following reports of a woman sustaining stab wounds.
Upon arrival, officers located a 63-year-old woman with a serious injury.
She has since been transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment.
A 13-year-old boy was located nearby a short time later and was taken into custody.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have any video footage that may assist investigations to come forward.
Investigations are ongoing.
