Police are continuing to investigate a firearms incident at Gagebrook last night where a man received a serious injury.
Shortly before midnight police responded to reports of a firearm discharged inside a residence on Gage Road.
A 30-year old man from Gagebrook had been shot. He was transported to the Royal Hobart Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
A police investigation is ongoing and following a specific line of enquiry to locate the offender.
"Understandably every firearms incident is concerning for police and the community," said Inspector Troy Morrisby.
"I'd like to reassure the community this incident was isolated and between people known to each other; and there was no threat to the wider community."
