Police Involved Shooting At Toowoomba

Police have shot a 45-year-old man following an incident at North Toowoomba yesterday afternoon.

Police attended a residential property on Ruthven Street around 4.40pm in relation to a man wanted for questioning.

A man armed with a knife came at police and was subsequently shot in the chest.

He has been transported to Toowoomba Hospital with life-threatening injuries and remains in a critical condition.

A crime scene has been declared and investigations are continuing.

Two officers received minor injuries and have been treated at hospital.

The Ethical Standards Command is investigating the incident with the investigation subject to oversight by the Crime and Corruption Commission.
