Police Involved Shooting, Rochedale

Police have shot a man in his 40s following an incident in Rochedale this morning, December 30.

Around 5.50am this morning, police were called to a business on Brickworks Place following reports of a disturbance.

Upon arrival, a man armed with a knife was located inside the warehouse and advanced on police whilst making threats.

Responding police deployed a taser, however it was ineffective and as the man continued to advance on police, they discharged one shot which struck the man.

Medical assistance was immediately rendered.

The man was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

No police officers or members of the public were injured during the incident.

The matter is under investigation by the Ethical Standards Command, with oversight by the Crime and Corruption Commission.
