Police Lay Armed Robbery Charge At Bowen

Police have charged a man in relation to an alleged armed robbery at a service station in Bowen yesterday, September 26.

It will be alleged the man attended the business on the Bruce Highway about 10.30pm, where he allegedly threatened staff with what is believed to be a firearm.

He then allegedly stole a sum of cash before leaving in a Toyota Landcruiser, that had been reported stolen from an address in Paget earlier that day.

The staff member was not injured during the incident.

Emergency crews were called and a crime scene was declared.

About 12.30am on September 27, police located the stolen vehicle parked on the side of the Bruce Highway, south of Home Hill.

A 28-year-old man has been charged with armed robbery.

He is expected to appear before Bowen Magistrates Court today, September 27.
