Police Lay Armed Robbery Charges At Cairns

Police have charged a 19-year-old man following an alleged armed robbery at a fast-food restaurant in Cairns yesterday, November 9.

It will be alleged around 6.30am, the 19-year-old man entered the restaurant armed with a knife and threatened an employee.

The staff member complied and was not physically injured.

The man fled the scene on foot with a quantity of money.

Investigators executed a search warrant at a Cairns North address later that day, where a 19-year-old Cairns North man was arrested.

The man has been charged with one count each of armed robbery and enter dwelling with intent.

He is due to appear before Cairns Magistrates Court on Monday, November 11.
