Police Lay Arson Charge, Svensson Heights

Detectives from Bundaberg Criminal Investigation Branch have charged a 42-year-old man with arson following a house fire at Svensson Heights yesterday, June 8.

It will be alleged just before 5.30am, the man deliberately set fire to the Montgomery Street property before leaving the scene on foot.

Upon arrival, emergency services located the house well alight, and police declared a crime scene.

No one was physically injured during the alleged incident.

The 42-year-old Svensson Heights man was taken into police custody just after 5pm on June 8.

He has been charged with one count of arson and is due to appear at Bundaberg Magistrates Court tomorrow, June 10.
