Police Lay Assault Charge At Brisbane City

A 27-year-old man has been charged following an alleged assault in Brisbane City this afternoon, November 11.

It will be alleged just before 3pm, a 27-year-old approached a man and a woman walking through Anzac Square and assaulted the man.

The 27-year-old then fled the scene on foot towards Ann Street.

The victim, a 51-year-old Kingaroy man, was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police located and arrested a 27-year-old Forest Lake man nearby, a short time later.

He has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and is due to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on December 3.
