Police Lay Charges After Fatal Collision In Burwood

Major Collison Investigation Unit detectives have charged two teenagers and arrested a third following a fatal collision in Burwood last night.

Emergency services were called to reports two cars had collided at the intersection of Warrigal Road and Highbury Road about 7pm on Tuesday, 2 July.

The driver of the first car, a 28-year-old Ashburton man, died at the scene.

A number of males from the second vehicle, which is alleged to have been stolen, fled on foot.

Two 15-years-old girls were arrested at the scene, and have since been charged with theft of a motor vehicle.

They were bailed to appear before a children's court at a later date.

A 17-year-old boy is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
