Whitehorse Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged two people following a stabbing at a Forest Hill shopping centre last year.
Emergency services were first called to reports of an altercation between a group of males in a carpark on Canterbury Road about 6.50pm on Friday, 27 December.
A 16-year-old boy from the Maroondah area was found with stab wounds and conveyed to hospital in a critical condition.
He spent over a month in hospital and is recovering from significant injuries.
Police will allege the parties were known to each other.
Detectives have today charged a 16-year-old boy from the Monash area with attempted murder, intentionally cause serious injury, affray, assault with a weapon, assault in company, possess drug of dependence and failing to comply with a direction to provide passwords.
He was remanded into custody and will appear before a children's court today.
A 23-year-old Hoppers Crossing man has also been charged with affray.
He was bailed to appear before Ringwood Magistrates' Court on 6 June.
