Police Lay Charges After Hillside Aggravated Burglary

Melton Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following an alleged aggravated burglary where a man was threatened with a firearm in Hillside last year.

It is alleged five male offenders approached a house on Antonietta Street just after 2am on 30 December 2024.

Three occupants, a 50-year-old man, a 49-year-old woman and a 15-year-old boy were inside at the time.

It's alleged the 50-year-old occupant was threatened with the firearm.

The five offenders then fled in two get-away vehicles which were parked nearby.

A search warrant was executed at an address in Hampton Park today where police seized a number of items including an imitation firearm, ammunition and a vehicle.

A 34-year-old Hampton Park man has been charged with offences including aggravated burglary with a firearm, prohibited person possess a firearm and criminal damage.

He has been remanded to appear in Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 19 April.

The investigation continues with four offenders still outstanding.
