Police Lay Charges After Thomastown Death

Homicide Squad detectives have charged two men following the death of a man in Thomastown earlier this month.

A 43-year-old Lalor, man wanted in relation to the incident, handed himself into police yesterday.

He has been charged with aggravated burglary, common law assault and theft and has been remanded to appear in the Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 18 November alongside his co-accused.

Police were called to the fatal stabbing of a 36-year-old Doreen man at a Victoria Drive address on Thursday, 11 July.

Medical assistance was provided to the Doreen man however he died at the scene.

A 45-year-old Glenroy man was arrested at the scene and charged with aggravated burglary - person present, theft and common law assault.

He was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 18 November.

Police believe the incident was targeted and that parties involved were known to each other.

Detectives are seeking assistance from the public to help locate a 2013 grey Land Rover Evoque, baring registration 1CD6MJ, that they believe may have been involved in the incident.

Investigators have released an image of the Land Rover in the hope that someone can provide information regarding its current whereabouts.
