Northern Territory Police have charged a man in relation to an aggravated assault that occurred earlier this month in Alice Springs.
On Friday 17 December, police received reports that a man had been assaulted by another man after he attempted to intervene in a dispute on Gap Road.
A 39-year-old man was arrested yesterday for the assault, and has been charged by detectives from the Alice Springs Criminal Investigation Branch with:
- Aggravated assault
- Stealing
- Being armed with an offensive weapon
He was remanded to appear in Alice Springs Local Court today.
Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Glenn Bolger said, "Police would like to thank the members of the public for their assistance in this investigation as the information they provided was vital in identifying the alleged offender."
