Northern Territory Police have arrested a 36-year-old man in relation to the alleged assault of a 44-year-old woman.
Sometime between 3:00pm and 4:00pm on Saturday 29 August 2020, the man allegedly assaulted the woman as she was sleeping inside her residence. The woman woke, a struggle ensued, and the woman fled.
The man, who is known to the woman, was arrested by police yesterday. He has been charged with one count of sexual intercourse without consent.
He was remanded and will appear in Katherine Local Court today.
