Police lay charges - Assault Police in Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have arrested a 16-year-old male after he allegedly assaulted a police officer.

At about 12:10pm yesterday, police were responded to a premises in Alice Springs in relation to a domestic violence incident. Police located the youth on arrival and proceeded to restrain the alleged offender.

During the arrest the youth resisted arrest and assaulted a male police officer.

The youth has been charged with:

  • Engage in conduct that contravenes DVO
  • Resist police
  • Assault police
  • Possess less than trafficable cannabis

He is due to face court today.
