Police Lay Charges - Domestic Violence - Hermannsburg

Northern Territory Police have charged a 52-year-old woman in relation to a domestic violence incident that occurred in Hermannsburg over the weekend.

Around 5am yesterday, police received reports that a 49-year-old man had been stabbed in the chest with an edged weapon at a residence within the community.

Police attended and arrested the 52-year-old, who is believed to be the partner of the victim. She has since been charged with Unlawfully cause serious harm and remanded to appear in Alice Springs Local Court tomorrow.

The victim suffered chest injuries and was conveyed to the local clinic. He has since been transferred to Alice Springs Hospital for further treatment.

A crime scene was declared and Domestic and Family Violence detectives are investigating.
