Northern Territory Police have charged a 35-year-old man in relation to domestic violence offences in Nightcliff earlier this week.
On Wednesday, the man allegedly assaulted his female partner at a residence in Nightcliff. Police attended and arrested the man at the location.
Detectives from the Domestic and Family Violence Section have since charged him with:
- Aggravated assault
- Deprivation of liberty
- Choking, strangling or suffocating in a domestic relationship
He was remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court today.
Detective Senior Sergeant Justin Bentley said "These are cowardly acts of violence and not acceptable behaviour under any circumstances".
