Police Lay Charges Over Wentworthville Assault

A man will face court today charged with assaulting another man in South Wentworthville overnight.

About 10.30pm (Wednesday 30 October 2024), emergency services were called to a property on Alto Street, South Wentworthville, following reports of an assault.

Officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command arrived and were told a 49-year-old man was allegedly punched in the face by another man known to him.

The 49-year-old was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for facial injuries before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a serious condition.

A 52-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Granville Police Station.

He was charged with reckless grievous bodily harm DV and assault occasioning actual bodily harm DV.

The man was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court today (Thursday 31 October 2024).
