Police have charged a man following investigations into the serious assault of a woman at a Torrington address yesterday morning.
Just after 10am on February 2, it will be alleged a man not known to the residents, entered the address via the back yard and backdoor before grabbing a 26-year-old woman and repeatedly assaulting her, including attempting to strangle her.
Police were called to the address by another member of the household with officers locating the man in the woman's vehicle, which had allegedly been stolen from the address.
The woman was taken to Toowoomba Hospital for treatment to non-life-threatening injuries and later released.
A 36-year-old Toowoomba man has been charged with burglary and commit indictable offence (bodily harm), stealing and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
He will appear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court today.
