Police Lay Murder Charge At Brisbane

Police have charged a man with murder after a man was located deceased at Stones Corner yesterday.

Police were called to a unit in Vine Street around 1am on Friday for a welfare check and discovered a 61-year-old man deceased inside the unit.

A crime scene is ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the man's death.

Investigators believe the death occurred as a result of an altercation in the unit around 10pm on the previous Friday, August 9.

Anyone who witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the area at the time or who may have information which could assist with investigations is urged to contact police.

Following investigations, detectives located and arrested a man on the Sunshine Coast just after midnight last night.

It will be alleged the two men are known to each other.

A 40-year-old Sunshine Coast man has been charged with one count of murder and will appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Monday August 19.
