Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have arrested a driver following a collision in Notting Hill last week.
It is alleged a pedestrian was jogging on a footpath on Blackburn Road before a white van mounted the nature strip and struck the man just before 6pm on 15 March.
The 73-year-old pedestrian was transported to hospital with serious injuries where he remains.
The van allegedly left the scene before emergency services arrived and did not return.
Investigators located the alleged driver of the vehicle yesterday, 16 March, and interviewed the 37-year-old Clyde man.
He was released and is expected to be charged on summons with dangerous driving causing serious injury.
