Police Make Arrest After Stolen Car Crash In Parkdale

Police have arrested a female teen following a collision involving an allegedly stolen car in Parkdale overnight.

It is alleged that a stolen white Volkswagen sedan crashed into two vehicles, a Mitsubishi Triton and a Suzuki Swift, both parked in the vicinity of Brownfield Street about 11.30pm.

No one was inside the parked cars at the time of the incident.

The occupants allegedly dumped the stolen Volkswagen and took off on foot.

Swift responding officers arrested a female soon after, alleged to be one of the occupants.

A 17-year-old girl from the Casey area will be interviewed and is expected to be charged with theft offences.

Despite a thorough search of the area with the assistance of K9, the remaining alleged offenders were not located.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Investigators alleged that the Volkswagen, now seized, was stolen from a Kew address in March.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, with CCTV/dashcam footage or information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
