Police Make Arrest - Aggravated Assault - Palmerston 19 February

The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested a 45-year-old male in relation to an aggravated assault that occurred in Palmerston last night.

Around 6:45am, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received a report of an unconscious male who appeared to have been assaulted on Palmerston Circuit.

St John Ambulance and Palmerston general duties attended, and the 63-year-old male victim was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital with serious injuries.

Police CCTV operators later observed the alleged offender kick the victim in the head several times before fleeing the scene.

A 45-year-old male was later arrested and remains in police custody.

Investigations remain ongoing.
