Police Make Arrest - Aggravated Assault - Pinelands

Northern Territory Police have arrested a 21-year-old man in relation to an aggravated assault that occurred in Pinelands on Monday.

Around 12.40pm, police received a report of a passenger allegedly assaulting a bus driver while they were operating the vehicle.

The incident occurred while the bus was on the Stuart Highway travelling through Pinelands.

The driver was forced to stop the vehicle before the offender fled the scene.

The driver suffered facial injuries and was later treated in hospital.

A 21-year-old man has since been arrested and is expected to be charged later today.

Police urge anyone who witnessed the incident, particularly passengers on the bus at the time, to contact police on 131 444 and quote NTP2400092605.
