Northern Territory Police have arrested a man after an aggravated assault occurred in the remote community of Warruwi yesterday.
Around 4:50pm, police received reports that a woman had been assaulted with an edged weapon by an unknown man as she was walking down the main street of the community.
She suffered a stab wound to her back that was treated at the local clinic while the offender fled the scene.
Maningrida Police deployed to the community via Airwing and arrested a 26-year-old man who currently remains in custody and is expected to the charged later this evening.
Investigations into the assault remain ongoing.
