Police Make Arrest - Aggravated Robbery In Darwin 13 August

Northern Territory Police have arrested a 48-year-old male in relation to an aggravated robbery that occurred in Darwin yesterday.

Around 6pm, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received a report of a male offender allegedly stealing alcohol from a takeaway alcohol premises on Mitchell Street in the Darwin CBD.

Security at the premises approached the offender who allegedly threatened the security guard with an edged weapon before fleeing the scene with the stolen alcohol.

Darwin general duties officers attended and commenced investigations. CCTV operators were able to successfully track the offender to a residence on Smith Street. Police members attended the location and apprehended the offender without incident.

He has been charged with Aggravated robbery and Shoplifting and is expected to appear in court 19 August 2024.
