Police Make Arrest - Aggravated Robbery - Wagaman

Northern Territory Police have arrested a male in relation to an aggravated robbery that occurred in Wagaman on Saturday afternoon.

Around 12pm, police received reports that an adult male entered a business at a shopping complex on Wagaman Place and allegedly assaulted a female employee before stealing her handbag.

The alleged offender handed the bag to two male youths who were outside the business, before fleeing on a bicycle, with the youth fleeing on foot.

The 19-year-old male was located yesterday allegedly in possession of the stolen items and was subsequently arrested.

The offender has been charged with aggravated robbery and remanded in custody.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Trent Abbott said, "We would like to thank the public for coming forward with information that ultimately led to the timely resolution of this matter.

"We continue to urge anyone who witnesses a crime or anti-social behaviour to contact police on 131 444."
