Police Make Arrest - Burglary In Alice Springs 15 January

The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested a male youth in relation to a burglary and stolen motor vehicle incident that occurred in Alice Springs last night.

At 7.05pm, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received a report of a Toyota Fortuna being stolen from a business in Percy Court, Kilgariff. The key was allegedly stolen after an offender gained access to the office building, and the stolen motor vehicle was subsequently sighted driving around Alice Springs.

Members from Operation Ludlow, the Drone Unit, Strike Force Viper, and general duties officers responded and conducted patrols to locate the vehicle. As a result of police investigations, the vehicle was located abandoned shortly before 9pm in Ilparpa, with the offender fleeing the area.

The alleged offender, a 13-year-old male, was subsequently arrested nearby. He has since been charged with Aggravated burglary and traffic offences and will appear in court today.

The stolen motor vehicle was recovered, and the investigation remains ongoing.
