Police Make Arrest - Domestic Violence In Alice Springs 31 January

The Northern Territory Police Force have arrested a 48-year-old man in relation to an alleged domestic violence sexual assault that occurred in Alice Springs overnight.

Around 1:10am, police received reports that a woman had been sexually assaulted at a town camp in the Alice Springs area.

Police and St John Ambulance attended the scene and the woman was conveyed to Alice Springs Hospital.

The offender and victim are known to one another.

Prior to the report of the sexual assault, the offender had presented to the police front counter with a head injury and was conveyed to the Alice Springs Hospital.

Police have since arrested the man and he remains under guard at the hospital.

Investigations are ongoing and police urge anyone with information to call police on 131 444 and quote reference P25030490. Anonymous reports can also be made through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
