Police make arrest - Fail to comply with direction

A 20-year-old man was arrested and charged after he breached Emergency Management Act directions.

The man arrived in WA on a flight from Queensland on Sunday 26 July 2021 and had failed to complete a G2G pass prior to entry into WA. It is alleged the man provided various misleading statements as to his reason for coming into WA and he was refused entry into WA.

It is further alleged the man made several false statements to police and provided inconsistent accounts as to his travel movements prior to arriving in WA. It is further alleged he verbally abused officers and acted in a disorderly and erratic manner.

The 20-year-old man from Queensland has been charged with:-

• Failure to Comply with a Direction (Emergency Management Act, 2005);

• Gave False or Misleading Information;

• Disorderly Behaviour in a Public Place; and

• Obstructing Public Officers.

He is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today, Monday 26 July 2021.
